"I've missed enough games this season to be sitting out of any game," Rooney told Sky Sports News.

The striker also believes the likes of Gerard Pique, who scored United's goal, and Jonny Evans will benefit from the experience of playing against Roma.
He added: "It was a good experience for a lot of the younger players coming in to the team. They handled it well and we got a good result. ) X  b: y7 {; F+ n# U( L- H) |
"To play Champions League, Roma away is a massive game for some of the young lads, but they have come in and done really well, and I think everyone is proud of that.
"A lot of players stayed at home and it was a good chance for the young lads. The manager showed great belief in them and it was a great experience to come and see what the Champions League is all about."
