Lille's UEFA appeal thrown out

LOSC Lille Metropole's appeal against the validity of United's 1-0 Champions League victory has been rejected by UEFA.

The French club claimed that Ryan Giggs' goal in the last 16 first leg tie should not have stood. However, on Friday afternoon UEFA's Appeals Body backed the original decision. A statement on their website confirmed "that there was no proof of a technical error".
