They believe that referee Eric Braamhaar made a technical error by not blowing his whistle before the free-kick had been taken and, therefore, were requesting that the match be replayed.

Their initial protest was vetoed by the Control and Disciplinary Body, but Les Dogues officials appealed against the ruling.

However, on Friday afternoon UEFA's Appeals Body backed the original decision. A statement on their website confirmed "that there was no proof of a technical error".
