Plymouth Argyle are about to sign Manchester United reserve striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake on a 3-year deal.
The 20-year old pacy striker, who was recently loaned to the Manchester feeder club Royal Antwerp in Belgium, will put pen to paper this week and join the Plymouth squad on their pre-season tour to Austria this week-end.
Ebanks-Blake was ear-marked to make a big impression at Manchester but a broken leg held up his progress. Manchester boss Sir Alex Ferguson is now willing to let the promising youngster move on to further his career after he has made just two appearances for the Old Trafford club, both in the League Cup.
New Plymouth manager Ian Holloway has been searching far and wide in his effort to sign some new strikers with plenty of names being linked to a move to Plymouth, these include Peter Thompson at Linfield, Marcus Stewart at Bristol City, Daniele Dichio at Burnley and just recently Matt Harrold at Yeovil Town.
The signing of Ebanks-Blank will be a major coup for the Home Park club.
