Smith was on target against the Italians and justified his selection with a feisty performance which unsettled Roma defender Cristian Chivu. The forward has revealed that Ferguson told his players to play with a spring in their step and prove they have the class to compete at the highest level. "Judging by tonight's performance, nothing is going to faze us," Smith told Sky Sports News. "The gaffer said go out and play with no fear, go and express yourselves because if you can't in a quarter-final, when you get to the final you will freeze.
