Reds go for Defoe
Fergie: Go For Defoe
Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to make a £12million swoop for Jermain Defoe - and believes that signing the England striker will see Manchester United wrestle the Premiership title from Chelsea. United are down to just two fit recognised strikers in Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha, and Fergie has been given the go-ahead to make a bid for the Tottenham forward when the transfer window reopens in January.
